Linebaugh Public Library System NPT scienceNOW is a face to face, informal conversation with about current science topics. Each meeting is focused on an interesting, lively discussion led by an expert in the field. It’s about exchanging points of views and appreciating differences. It’s about learning and sharing science for all. Meetings will be hel...d monthly on the first Tuesday at noon.

On January 5, our topic will be The Human Spark. We'll discuss what makes us uniquely human. We'll look at our closest genetic cousins, the chimpanzees and other apes, and discuss our similarities and difference. We’ll explore with participants such aspects of the human experience as language, morality and the ability to create and use complex tools.

Whether tackling how science can solve global problems or help us to understand how the universe works, these gatherings are NOT lectures. They are an opportunity for you to share your opinions, ideas and thoughts with other science lovers and to meet local scientists in a fun, casual setting. Bring a lunch and join us for this "Science Off the Shelf" series.
