Musser Mallets The placement of the resonator cap in the resonator on Musser marimbas, vibes & xylophones, determines the length of resonance. This exacting craft is one of Musser's features. The right tuning of the mallet instrument bar is important, but the acoustical match with the resonator and cap setting, creates the desired sound.
