earlier this month, unfortunately two horrendous acts happened in pennsylvania, one more tragic: 1) lou bartletta, the infamous mayor of Hazleton, PA was awarded "Mayor of the Year" by the Pennsylvania State Mayors Association for his "hands-on" anti-immigrant strategies and 2) Luis Ramirez, a 25 year-old Mexican immigrant and father of two was beaten to death in Shenandoah, PA by three white teens after confronting them on their barrage of ethnic/racial slurs. almost after a month of this shocking incident, the Justice Department is finally opening an investigation.

what's going on over there in PA? while watching a house immigration subcommittee markup hearing on visa recapture, i'm just shaking my head in disgust.
