Most of them knew her story: how she was stabbed repeatedly inside the same store nearly two years ago; how a nurse shopping in the store stopped the bleeding just in time; how she worked for months through grueling rehabilitation to reclaim her life.
Once they learned how donated blood saved her life two years ago, many of them agreed to give to do their part to help save another life.

This is an important step forward as Afghan women police officers are need at all levels, especially in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, and crimes against children.
