WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE HEALTHCARE REFORM HAPPEN! The House is voting tomorrow (November 7) in a rare Saturday session on H.R. 3962, the Affordable Healthcare for America Act. We urge you to immediately call your Representative and let him/her know you want a YES vote on this important legislation! This is the best c...hance to move the issue forward. One worry for us is that offices are hearing from a lot of worried constituents who don't want the bill passed. We really need to demonstrate that there is support for healthcare reform NOW! 4. Secure Funding for Affordable Housing as the Weather Turns Cold Ask members of Congress to fund the National Housing Trust Fund

The School of the Americas (now known as the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation) is the U.S. Army training center for Latin American militaries. SOA graduates have been among some of the worst human rights violators in Latin America.
This Wednesday, October 28, women religious gathered at the U.S. Cap...itol building for a vigil, and made visits to congressional offices to encourage Congress to close down the SOA.
In solidarity with the sisters, make your voice heard. Please contact your Representative and urge them to co-sponsor H.R. 2567, the Latin America Military Training Review Act, which would suspend operations at the SOA and call for an investigation into the human rights abuses associated with the school.
Sisters would never teach at this school, and we call on Congress to close it down!

NETWORK LOBBY Yesterday, members of the NETWORK:Lobby staff went to The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi's office and Majority Leader of the Senate, Harry Reid's office to Deliver 6,320 signatures for healthcare reform. The petition, signed as part of the October 20th "Healthcare Day of Action" called for congress to pull through on reform!
