Regarding .tel, one can find many comments (by far not all positive ones) on domaining forums. Some people see prospects with .tel, however - read our previous post for a few nuanced comments and observations. Most people in the domaining community have been quite skeptical toward .tel, a...nd I understand that - with some nuances, however. First, let's remember that domain names are not primarily made for domainers, but for being used as channels for sharing information, and I see some potential use for .tel, although one needs to think differently and imagine what can be done or not.
Second, .tel might well evolve: it is interesting to notice that applications for .tel are already under development, and this could open some possibilities.
Third, nobody knows if .tel will succeed or be a failure, but some good, generic names in .tel certainly have a future - provided, once again, one does not approach it as a classical type of TLD. Read More
