Revised and expanded workshop!!! The Nashville Film Festival and Nashville Women in Film and Television are pleased to announce the revised and expanded version of the annual Kids on Camera Workshop.

On-Camera Scenes – Revised – This year we will be using two cameras for each scene to better cover each child’s acting on...-screen. You will receive your script before coming to the workshop. Please memorize your lines and know the script well. The filming of these scenes will be done by Nashville’s top professionals in the film and television industry and they will be shot on real soundstages at NPT.

Jodi Richfield, Headshots – Revised – Jodi Richfield returns and this year she will be at the workshop for two days in order to give each child one-on-one instruction. Each child will have a 10-15 minute session with this well sought celebrity photographer. She will give each child tips and techniques for getting the best out of each headshot session. The photographs that she takes during the workshop will be retouched and hand selected to be seen by Nashville’s talent agent, Jimmi Cannon McCarter. (Please note, this is a Practice Session. While your child will receive a 8x 10 glossy that has been retouched, her sessions usually last 60-90 min at a cost starting at $400)

Jimmi Cannon McCarter- Returning this year is the owner of The Cannon Group talent agency, one of the most sought after agencies in the southeast because this “boutique” agency gives specialized attention to those it represents. The Cannon Group specializes in film, TV, Industrials, Music Videos, Voice-overs, and other aspects of the industry. Jimmi will personally meet with each student, review their headshot, and give the parents a Questions and Answers session during the workshop. Please see their website www.thecannongroupagency.com

Jo Doster – Meet with TOP local casting director, Jo Doster and experience a real audition with constructive feedback. Jo will give each participant script copy for auditions based upon type and look for current films in production.

Hair and Make-up *New this year* We will have some of Nashville’s finest hair and makeup artists. Try different looks, perhaps a new scar, a black eye, or a glam look. Please make sure you arrive clean, without make-up, and clean lightly styled hair.

Going Green! – New this year. Concerned about the earth? We are too. So this year we are going green. So please bring a favorite sports bottle or cup so that we can decrease our use of paper, Styrofoam, and plastic. Also, most communications will be via email. Please provide email addresses so we can send you information as needed.

Health – We are unable to attend to sick children. Please do not send any medications with your child. We will have Tylenol and ibuprofen available as well as a first aide kit for minor scrapes. If your child requests Tylenol or ibuprofen we will call you for verbal approval before we will give it to your child. If your child has allergies, please note that on the enrollment form and an epi pen will be allowed. Otherwise please know that we will not knowingly serve peanut products if there is a peanut allergy.

Nashville Film Festival
Founded in 1969 as the Sinking Creek Film Celebration and one of the longest-running film festivals in the country, Nashville Film Festival (NaFF) is hosted by the Regal Green Hills Stadium 16 in Nashville, Tennessee. Since becoming the Nashville Independent Film Festival in 1998, and then the Nashville Film Festival ...in 2003, this annual mid-Tennessee film event attracts enthusiastic film lovers from the region and has been praised by filmgoers and filmmakers alike for its unique combination of big city film festival atmosphere and southern hospitality. With over 240 films from 44 countries, numerous industry panels, music showcases, and great parties every night, the 2007 NaFF drew over 20,000 attendees ( a 26% increase from 2006). With films crossing all genres from drama, comedy, animation, and family to experimental, foreign, documentaries and short films, the Festival has something for every filmgoer to enjoy. Voted as one of "20 film festivals worth the entry fee" by MovieMaker Magazine and highlighted for "One of the Best Film Festival Prizes" by Film Festival Today, it is one of the most acclaimed film festivals in the South.
