Tennessee State Fair

Tennessee State Fair What's next for the state fair property? Shutting down on June 30th? What happens to flea market, Christmas Village, Gun Shows, Tailgate Antique Shows? Anyone want to form a joint venture and build an expo center? If Nashville doesn't, outlaying counties will!

Here's an idea: sell the property (assuming Metro is the owner and not the state) to someone who'll operate a race track.

Hope you guys are planning on attending the Fair Board Meeting tomorrow night at 4 p.m. in Wilson Hall...a lot of questions need to be answered (or asked).

I could not attend the meeting but I am interested in trying to save the fairgrounds for the public use it provides. It is one thing to relocate but to summarily dismiss it as not worthy is unacceptable. The race track has the potential to be put on the historical register and I' m not convinced of the authority of the Mayor through the Fair board to make this decision. I am not taking this lying down.
