For those that are not aware, International Coastal Clean Up Day is taking place next week Saturday, September 19th. Clean ups are taking place in Nassau, Abaco and Grand Bahama. The BNT would like to encourage those who can to come out and support this global effort in The Bahamas.
Bonefish Pond National Park was chose...n in New Providence as the location to support our national parks and in honour of the Bahamas National Trust's 50th Anniversary.
We ask all those who are coming out to please wear enclosed shoes, use sunscreen and bring gardening gloves.
A map to Bonefish Pond is posted along with the photos from the last major clean up event at Bonefish.

Bahamas National Trust Press Release August 28, 2009 The Bahamas National Trust has long been on record as supporting the removal of Casuarinas from our island coastlines...

Bahamas National Trust The Min. of Agriculture and Marine Resources hereby announces that the Fisheries Regulations governing marine turtles have been amended to give full protection to all marine turtles found in Bahamian waters by prohibiting the Harvesting, possession, purchase and sale of turtles, their parts and eggs. The new regulations also prohibits the molestation of marine turtle nests. Effective Sept 1st 2009.

This summer the BNT will be hosting a series of Kids nature movies. We kicking off the season with an adorable and exciting flick about a mother polar bear and her cub as they fight for survival in an unforgiving land also facing the effects of climate change.
Great for all ages!!
Refreshments including snow cones and hot dogs will be on sale.
