Janet

Janet How do we investigate a custody case to find out whether it was "fixed" and people were paid off? Please give us somewhere to start from. This is a wonderful group--God bless all the mom's who are suffering the needless loss of custody of their children.

@Janet, "secretly" go to the clerks office and ask for a copy of the docket. On your court filings you should already have a case number so when you go; act like you know what your asking for and don't be nervous. Once you have a copy of the docket; review it like a balence sheet. for every action in the court, there has to be a payment matching ... Read Morethe docket. If you find a LARGE number of discrepancies, then investigate these issues. these are known as "off the book" activities.... I personally hope that your case is not "off the books"... that is an awful position to be in....

BTW, the "docket sheet" is FREE... unless they charge for copies which should be less then $2 dollars.... good luck...

Wow Kwame, thanks so much! the dockets are listed online on the court's website, do you think they are exactly the same as what I would get at the courthouse, which is 2 hours away, so perhaps I can find it online? God Bless you so much for offering some assistance, you are awesome! I will try to find out! I'll let you know!

Allison Boring What a great group! I want to wish all you mothers strength and courage...

Don Saxton

Don Saxton I have two kids. PA was just one of the techniques to ruin my kids relation to their Dad. The court helped these along by being more commited to ideology than evidence.

Jamie Burton

Jamie Burton My little boys birthday is in two days and I just wish I could be there to watch him turn 6. The last birthday I spent with him was when he turned 2, right before his father recieved custody of him. How do you get through the birthdays?? It seems like I want to remember it but I don't in the same way. Thanks for letting me talk.

Lisa Wow, I cant believe I hadnt found this before now. Hello everyone! ~~Silverwolf~~~

Linda

Linda Hello Everyone, I am quite new here. My 8 year old granddaughter was handed over to her estranged father. My daughter is fighting it but can't afford a lawyer. It is out of State and complicated. We believe the State he lives in had no jurisdiction but we are not sure. How do we share our story? I did start a blog. Thanks so much :)

Gee, the mom from 'NAONCM, Inc.,' you even lost the appeal & subsequent attempts to modify the order...was he fostering relations well with you, did your lawyers do a good job? Was it the judge? Thank you for the advice about maintaining the relationship with my children...their memories are so short, my oldest knows... best that father wasn't around before all of this. Did you ever go to the media, would it have caused outrage? No one who I know knows of anybody like myself...I don't even have a new husband/boyfriend, looking for more/better employment, hoping that it will fit into my children's schedules. Being a mother, staying home with your children now seems to me like a very vulnerable situation to place yourself in, as I lost everything, & my children spend their mornings & afternoons with a nanny whom I do not even have the phone number to. Is there anything that you would do differently?Read More

No Ann, my son's father does not foster relations well with me and the court-appointed evaluator said in her report that he "feels compelled to erase the bond that has existed between mother and son since birth..." And that's exactly what he does.

I cannot believe the court-appointed evaluator stated that in her report & your outcome was the way it was. Was your judge ever investigated into? What a crime for your child. What about children's rights? My guardian ad-lidum stated in court that she had safety issue concerns for my children & my ex received custody of them & is employing a ... Read Morenanny whom I do not have any information on...my ex's father laughed in court when I stated that the children's safety should be of the utmost concern of the court! I see that the court thinks it is laughable as well as the judge ignored the issue altogether. What about children's rights?

Well, I am bi-racial and the judge is right. The kids DO suffer in one way or another. No matter what you are NOT white like your white friends and you are NOT black like your black friends. Family members on both sides will have "issues" with you if they voice them or not. Your parents always look "different", your skin, your hair, everything ... Read Moreabout you is different and when you are a kid, it sucks.
While things have gotten better in the last decade or so, it is nowhere near it should be. I was born in the 70's before it was considered "exotic" to be bi-racial. There were NO categories for us to choose in demographics. I remember feeling torn bc I couldn't choose the black box, I couldn't choose the white box, there was no "other, or multi" box at those times. I remember the cruel songs kids sang in the playgrounds: "your mothers white, your fathers black; put them together you got zebra strips"
I'm 34 now and I remember it like it was yesterday. When I see a mixed baby I pray for them, because I know what they will go through...

People want to sit around and think everything is perfect and color does not exist, but frankly, it does. I for one, actually commend the judge for taking a stand and not selling out by being politically correct.

If you are a stay-at-home mom with no income, are you able to apply for Legal Aid? Are there any grants in your area that you can apply for to get legal assistance? Have you tried the local legal college in your state? They may - like my city - have a legal clinic where the students take cases from a pool of financially challenged individuals. OR you might call the legal society where you live and get a recommendation for any attorneys needing to fulfill their pro bono satisfaction.

Cannot believe I am writing this, have been a stay-at-home mom for 8 years, two children, had a trial with a guardian who recommended the children live with me...father is rich & powerful, he won the case! He makes 25X more money than I do & I have to pay partially for a nanny he did not choose plus pay child support.... I am appealing, it will take up to twelve months. Are there any laws that state children cannot be taken from their primary caregiver & given to a parent who requires a nanny?Read More

Gee, the mom from "NANCM, Inc." appeals are hard to win, right? I still cannot believe how my trial turned out to begin with.
