The NCC is the University of Alabama's local non-profit alumni association serving more than 3,700 alumni and friends in the DC, Virginia, and Maryland area.

National Capital Chapter
The 24th Annual Bama Bound BBQ will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 12:30pm at Lacey Woods Park in Arlington (1200 North George Mason Drive, Arlington, VA 22205; Lacey Woods is a 10-minute walk from Ballston Metro on the Orange line)
This year's guest speaker will be former Alabama football player, Roger Shultz.
Rog...er Shultz was a four year starter at the University of Alabama where he was a two time All SEC center. As a freshman, Roger was named to the all SEC freshman team, as well as an All-American. His senior year, he was the Pat Trammel Award and the Dwight Stephenson Award winner. He was also invited to and played in the Senior Bowl. After his playing days, he was named to the Alabama All Decade team for the 90s, as well as the 50 Year All Iron Bowl Team.
Tide fans will remember the steady presence that Roger brought to the middle of the offensive line. In 1992, he returned to serve as a Graduate Assistant for the National Championship Team.
Most recently, Roger dropped 164 pounds, more than any other contestant in the history of NBC's The Biggest Loser and finished second losing by only four pounds.
Dixie Bones BBQ lunch made possible with contributions by the University of Alabama chapters of Alpha Lambda Delta and Order of Omega.
Chapter members: $15.00 per adult, $7.50 per child age 10 and up (you must have a family membership in order to qualify for the children's discount)
Non-members: $30.00 per adult, $15.00 per child age 10 and up

Join us for our annual UA in DC welcome reception and networking information session at the offices of Van Scoyoc Associates on June 16, 2009 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We will hear from Jonathan Lifland, a local Alabama alumnus and Media and Communications Manager with the National Academy of Sciences, who will discuss w...ays in which interns and local alumni can build a viable network of contacts for professional development. The reception is free and is open to all alumni, current UA students and their families.
UA in DC is an ongoing program, sponsored by The University of Alabama Career Center, to bring interns and alumni together for shared interests.

Bald is beautiful! And going bald can mean an extra chance at life for a child with cancer. Don’t think it’s possible…then join us on April 11th at Crystal City Sports Pub in Arlington, VA for the 2009 St. Baldrick’s event to raise money for children’s cancer research. Now in its 8th year of existence in the DC area, t...he local event has raised over $200,000 dollars towards life saving research.
How can you get involved with this great event? The best way to help is to volunteer to be a “shavee” and go under the clippers. By agreeing to be a shavee, you’re pledging your support to the fundraising effort and also standing in solidarity with a child with cancer.
