I was just invited by Linda Lockhart-McDole to joing the National Kidney Foundation page of fans, happy to be a part of it, but I think that 2 of my children were in the Salik's first National Kidney Foundation Contest along with 4 other kid's. It was the first contest my son Kelly Slater won and Sean, Kelly's brother... came in second. The Salik's are my hero's, but I must say I think I'll have to start a 12 step program to get myself away from watching surfing heats all over the world. Can't take the pressure anymore. Love to Rich and Phil and all those out there with kidney problems. My niece lives with one kidney since age of 4, she is 43 now, because of a birth defect. But I think she is one of the fortunate ones who didn't live with much except antibiotics. Love Judy Slater LaneRead More

Barbara Morarity-Van Dyke We had a great time at the 15th Annual National Kidney Foundation Authors Luncheon of Sacramento. Thanks to Abby, Claudia, Diane and the rest of the team. Another successful event. We had some very entertaining and friendly authors this year, every one of them a pleasure to meet. Thanks to all my friends and family for their support!

Karen Lyday My son Brad (33 years old) has been on dialysis for 14 months now. We have had many people willing to donate a kidney but are not qualified health wise. I thank God for putting him in the hands of sooo many health care programs, people and possitive encourageing words of support for keeping him alive. We will wait for a kidney now! God Bless NKFI, dialysis workers, and all.

I recently donated my old car to the Foundation. I hope everyone is aware of this option. Instead of scrapping it, the foundation auctions it off and keeps the money for the cause. Then I got to write it off on my taxes. Feels good to be able to help out a very worthy cause. In Michigan alone there are almost 3,000 peo...ple awaiting a kidney transplant. That's way too many. Consider vehicle donation next time you need to get rid of a car!Read More
