Receiving a diagnosis of MS is a life altering event. The support and information provided to you and your families around the time of MS diagnosis is important in shaping how you will adapt to the challenges you may face in the
future. It is essential to provide you with the most accurate information about the disea...se and treatment options as well as information about the potential impact of MS on lifestyle and relationships as soon as possible following your diagnosis. Providing emotional support and
reassurance and helping to build a social support system are other critical tasks during this time.
These programs are designed for individuals that have been diagnosed with MS within the past five years. We also invite your friends and family members to attend with you, since it is clear that MS impacts the entire family unit. We highly recommend that you attend at least one. There will be valuable information that you won’t want to miss.
These programs will provide you with the knowledge and opportunities necessary for you to make informed, thoughtful decisions about your healthcare, to establish and to have an effective partnership with your physician and other health care providers, to interact with others in similar life circumstances and to begin to establish the support system that will enhance your ability to cope with the many demands of MS.
A program for newly diagnosed indiviuals and their friends and family.
