National Museum of Civil War Medicine I will be off to Casper Wyoming for three lectures on Monday. I am flying out on Saturday night and will try and post pictures and updates here. I will keep you all appraised as I head for colder climes. I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving! More soon.

The National Museum of Civil War Medicine is proud to announce the release of its latest television work in cooperation with the History Channel and Halfyard Productions. The Real Cowboys series will air six new shows beginning on November 22, 2009 that will continue on consecutive Sunday evenings until December 6, 2...009. The Museum’s Executive Director, George Wunderlich, is a featured historian on four of the long-anticipated segments. Mr. Wunderlich performs various ballistics, surgical and commentary sections for four of the series programs: Wyatt Earp, November 22, 9:00 p.m.; Billy the Kid, November 29, 9:00 p.m.; The Real Lonesome Dove, November 29, 10:00 p.m.; and Tom Horn, December 6, time to be announced. These four shows mark a watershed in the Museum’s long-standing television outreach. “This is completely new territory for us,” states Wunderlich. “We are now using our ballistic, surgical and healthcare knowledge to expand our interpretation into a new era, the era of the Civil War soldier as a civilian veteran.”

National Museum of Civil War Medicine Just completed--a new Christmas exhibit highlighting 19th century children's toys at the Carty Building in Frederick. The exhibit will run through January 21st. Thanks to the Rose Hill Manor Children's Museum for loaning us some of the delightful toys!
