Last Thursday, 140 poinsettias were delivered to homes around Medfield, a token of holiday cheer from the M...edfield Home Committee (MHC) to individuals and families known to have suffered a personal loss or tragedy this year. It’s a tradition closely associated with the MHC, which began in Medfield 50 years ago when six local residents founded the service organization to coordinate distribution of holiday meals and gifts to residents thought to need some “extra cheer.”

Despite having just four players returning from last year’s varsity team, the Medfield High boys basketball program is ready to challenge for a sixth straight Tri-Valley League championship this winter.

The Medfield High girls basketball team reeled off 18 straight wins to start last season and advanced to the semifinals of the Division 2 South tournament. The Warriors won the Tri-Valley League title outright for the first time since 1972.

The Medfield Animal Shelter is pleased to announce this year’s matching challenge fundraiser. A small group of longtime shelter supporters have once again offered to match every dollar that is donated to the Medfield Animal Shelter between Dec. 1... and Jan. 15 — up to $20,000. Previous matching challenge fundraisers have helped us raise most of our operating budget for the year, allowing our volunteers to spend more time helping pets in need.
