Nevada Advocates for Planned Parenthood Affiliates
You may have heard that last week the in order to pass the health care reform bill in congress they accepted a ban on abortion services. Not everyone would choose this option for themselves, but we think that government making this decision for women or preventing them from accessing abortion care with their own money ...is going too far. No woman should be worse off as a result of health care reform. We must stop this amendment from being included in the Senate version of the bill.

I am finishing up the current post (which also addresses to the whole Stupak amendment dustup in HR 3962). Sadly skeptical that anything substantive -- in terms of the public's interest -- wi...ll obtain at the end of the legislative battle. Too much for-profit money on the table.

It's a chilling ultimatum: eliminate choice for millions of women, or the U.S. Conf. of Catholic Bishops will do all they can to kill health care reform. This is a true crisis for Ameri...can women, and we need you to act now. Call and spread the word ASAP as the House votes today!
Nevada Advocates for Planned Parenthood Affiliates Now that all of the bills have been drafted ... we're lobbying congress to let them know how we feel about Health Care Reform! Women's health care has to be a priority, essential community providers (including Planned Parenthood) must be included, and women can not be worse off after health care reform than they are now!

Anti-choice groups are doing all they can to pressure and intimidate lawmakers into using health care reform to attack women's health. They will not stop until access to abortion is completely eliminated — even in private insurance plans, the vast majority of which currently cover abortion.
The current legislation prot...ects women's health and expands access to affordable care, but these protections are in danger. We have to make clear that we will not accept efforts to water down the protections for women's health in the current bill. We can't allow health care reform that leaves women worse off than they are today. We can't make any more concessions — and we need to make ourselves heard.
