The Frog and The Peach A Local Spirit is featured in The Cocktail of the Week starting Halloween (Saturday 10/31), Laird’s Apple Jack, produced in Scobeyville NJ, just down Rte 18 in Monmouth County. We are mixing up the JACK ROSE, a very yummy sweet and sour concoction with Lairds Apple Jack and Grenadine. Chris made the grenadine himself; squeezing pomegranates right here at The F&P!

The Frog and The Peach Public Service Announcement: Many of us are using Hand Sanitizer to ward off flu germs. A family member of a F&P manager recently had a bottle of Purell that was gunked up. In unclogging it it squirted into her eye and damaged her retina. She was in a tremendous amount of pain! 5 days later, though getting better, she still has limited vision in that eye. Please be careful!

Whiskey Sours! (The classic cocktail of the week this week.) Sour yet approachable flavor, the whiskey sour has a reputation as a whiskey drink for those who might not have the palate for more subtle whiskey drinks. For many, the whiskey sour is a door-opener into the never uninteresting world of this dark liquor. For... me, this was a cocktail my parents let me taste as a kid….an introduction to the world of spirits. I don’t think I tasted a real one (not made from a powdery mix) until just now! Much better than I recall! The proper ratio, of sweet and sour, is what makes this drink. That and real ingredients like real lemon, real sugar (simple sugar) and egg white (that's where the foam comes from!).Read More

The Frog and The Peach For Dinner tonight, in addition to our amazing fall menu, we have: Tomato and White Bean Soup with Oregano Oil. Nice on a day with an autumn feel to it. Entrée additions include Flank Steak with an Asian inspired preparation, and Skate Wings with lots of healthy tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach. As always lately, the Bar Menu food is ½ price for Happy Hour ( 4 to 7).
