International Haydn Festival - Summer 2009
This summer, Maestro Knapp led the 2009 International Haydn Festival, celebrating the Bicentenary Anniversary of Franz Josef Haydn, and NJCS singers travelled to Vienna to sing! Concerts featuring Haydn's masterworks for chorus, orchestra and soloists were held during the firs...t week of July in the City of Music's most spectacular venues. NJCS performed Haydn's Heiligmesse: Missa Sancti Bernardi von Offida on July 2 in the Musikverein, known internationally as "the Eldorado of classical music".

New Jersey Choral Society What makes each New Jersey Choral Society performance so moving? Combine the imagination of music and all it promises with the passion and excellence of our musicians. Then tie it together with a common bond – the shared emotion and experience of our audience. The motto with which Ludwig von Beethoven prefaced his Mis...sa Solemnis - "From the heart, to the heart" - best shares the sentiment of our season. LUX, the golden light that is a paragon of hope and peace, will communicate the humanitarian message of music into the daily lives and consciousness of our listeners. Please join us for concerts that offer a bright light in an era of great change, embodied in music of hope and goodwill. The world may change but the human heart remains.
