Just depends on the traffic. Normally it only takes about 15 minutes. However, during the holidays and bad weather at other airports it was taking as long as 30-45 minutes.

Doubtful... who'd fly it?

Probably will see a resumption of service to Honduras at some point, considering that 1) Hondurans comprise the overwhelming majority of NOLA's Hispanic community, 2) New Orleans has a 60year history of sustained service to Honduras, and 3) it's also the metro area with the largest Honduran population and business acumen, that still lacks nonstop service to that country.

After Honduras, I wouldn't be surprised to see service to El Salvador, as TACA is based there, and offered direct same-plane 1stop service from here to there for decades.... See More

Personally, I'd like to see scheduled nonstop European service more than anything... but we've struck out in that regard ever since after losing British Airways, circa 1983

I'd like to see TA back as much as the next person, or AC for that matter, but I think the airport should be pressing hard for a carrier like Monarch or Thomas Cook...etc...to have something like a weekly service to the UK. Condor in Germany is starting twice weekly service to Ft.Lauderdale in May...they might be a good carrier to go after.

Exactly.
Considering our lack of a legacy hub, beach, or conglomerate to subsidize the service... it'd be difficult to MSY to pull a major intercontinental network carrier.

But scheduled intercon charter carriers (e.g., Monarch, ThomsonFly, Thomas Cook, CorsairFly, Condor, etc) would seem like the perfect fit for this market at this point, particularly if "we" can tie them in with cruise/hotel/vacation packages.

Will the D expansion include room for new airline club rooms to be added like perhaps a Presidents Club for CO?

That is not part of the current design, but there is plenty of room to add rooms/clubs/concessions.

It should come as good news to those travelers who complain that LANOIA falls short when compared with the look of other airports across the country.
