New York Miniaturist Ensemble The NYME will help to celebrate the release of Seth Kim-Cohen's book "In the Blink of an Ear" with premieres of new works by Alvin Lucier, Marina Rosenfeld, Jarrod Fowler, John Lely, and Seth Kim-Cohen at the ISSUE Project Room in Brooklyn.
New York Miniaturist Ensemble Composer Snapshot: Otto Muller cites influences as diverse as Josquin, old cassette tapes, serial techniques, and stilts. Hear his work "Fiddler Sermon", inspired by the performances of the puppeteer Peter Schumann, on 9/26 at the NYPL.
New York Miniaturist Ensemble Composer Snapshot: Seth Kim-Cohen is a producer of texts, sounds, moving images, performances, and difficult-to-define experiences. Following the recent publication of Kim-Cohen's book, "In The Blink of an Ear: Toward a Non-Cochlear Sonic Art," the NYME will premiere the 12th note of his epic work "Brevity is a Sol LeWitt" at the NYPL on 9/26. www.kim-cohen.com

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble will present a concert of world premieres alongside a retrospective of works written for the Ensemble over the last five years, including compositions by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Michael Finnissy, Kevin Volans, and Georges Aperghis. Additionally, the NYME will perform classics by compos...ers such as Brahms, Dvorak, and Schubert. As always, all compositions will have 100 notes or fewer! Please join the Miniaturist Ensemble at The New York Performing Arts Library's Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center. Free admission.
