Learn the basics of the Japanese writing system. This workshop provides an overview of the fascinating migration from China to Japan of the Kanji (Chinese characters) writing system, introduces participants to basic words and pronunciation, and teaches fun Japanese literacy games... for use in the American classroom. By the end of the session, you’ll be writing your name in katakana, one of the Japanese syllabaries.
