Karen Hill Photography Check out our wedding on NY Weddings! Thank you to our GREAT photographers Julie Skarratt and Jason Walz whose work was chosen to be in the magazine, and THANK YOU to all six of our amazing photographer/friends for all their beautiful photos and video! We LOVE them ALL. How will we ever make our album?!

When Karen and Frank decided to make things official, their old fixer-upper upstate quickly became the natural choice for the occasion.

Karen Hill Photography Another in the series, All Time Favorite Images. This one was taken during the exchange of rings at the church with the flower girl and the bridal party intently watching. This was shot with the Contax G2 with high speed film.

Karen Hill Photography When everything aligns, it's perfection - light, moment, composition, camera. I took this with a Contact G2 with trix film. The bride was radiant as she was escorted down the aisle by her parents.

Karen Hill Photography Winter light can be so beautiful. I took this image in NYC with my Rollei with Fuji 800 film. It has all my favorite elements - backlight, flower girls, a candid moment and of course, a beautiful bride!

Karen Hill Photography This one was taken in Spain in the mountains outside Barcelona after the ceremony which took place in a hand carved cave which was carved by Monks. (I guess they had nothing else to do!) I took this with a camera called a Widelux which has a rotating, 180 degree lens, with 3200 tmax film. This camera gets everything in one shot!

Karen Hill Photography This group shot was taken on the beach on the island of St Martin. I used my Holga with the plastic lens loaded with trix film to capture this less conventional group shot. For these shots, we all went for a short walk on the beach after the ceremony. The magic is in the moment, the camera and the film.

Karen Hill Photography Another photo in the series of All Time Favorite Images! I took this image off the coast of Rhode Island of the bride and groom during their portrait session. I shot it with trix film with a camera called a Holga, which has a plastic lens. This camera makes any image in bright light look amazing! I love this photo because of the dramatic backdrop, tender moment and beautiful light!

Karen Hill Photography Another photo in the series of All Time Favorite Images! This one is such a sweet moment of the bride and groom before leaving for portraits and the ceremony. It was taken on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in the bride's parents home. I shot it with trix film with a small, quiet little camera called a Contax G2.

Karen Hill Photography Another of my favorite images was one I took at a wedding on the groom's family's farm in New Preston, CT. The opening of the barn door was perfect for a square format. I shot this image with a Rolleiflex, which has a painterly, romantic look to it. I love backlight, it turns a beautiful moment into an dreamy interpretation.

Karen Hill Photography Another of my favorite images from my archives is a photograph taken in downtown NYC while the bride was entering Gramercy Park with a Holga camera with trix 120 film. I love the gate and the ethereal rendering of the Holga lens, which is plastic.

This is the first in a series I'd like to start posting of my favorite images. The first is from a winter wedding lit only by a small pocket light and headlights shining through the rear window of the vintage car we were traveling in just after the ceremony. The graininess is the result of high speed film, 3200 tmax. I... love the beauty of the moment and the rendering of low light, it's so amazing to be let into people's lives on their wedding day - when you think about it, it's really extraordinary.
