I think I've seen a documentary about Kasztner, but not sure if it's the same film. He saved so many people; surely that must count for something before people rush to judge on HOW he did it?

What about Oskar Schindler? He could be criticized too, but most people regard him as a hero for the Jewish lives he saved.

Once upon a time, when I was a student for the rabbinate, my classmates and I shared many fears about life to come “out there,” but none more than the “living in a fishbowl” syndrome.

This is a really tragic story that shows how disease can appear at any age, and that we must appreciate the time we have with our loved ones. I really feel for Sondra. This story made me do a search about the disease, and apparently it is about oxidation in the brain. Natural remedies that may prevent this terrible disease are to have as many ... Read Moreantioxidants in the diet from organic fruit and vegetables as possible, as they think that some pesticides may contribute to Parkinson's. Also, I've heard that the spice tumeric is a powerful antioxidant that may protect against Parkinson's as well. It sounds strange that tumeric is so healthy, but do a search on its health benefits- you'll be amazed.

On Tuesday the State Department criticized the decision by Jerusalem authorities to go ahead with 900 new housing units in the Gilo neighborhood. Doesn't this all sound familiar?

How can Yossi Beilin be described as an 'ardent peacenik' if he does not condemn the expansion of Jerusalem's settlements? This is more than a matter of opinion, it is a matter of them being illegal. If he does not acknowledge the fact, he is no 'ardent peacenik'. Selective amnesia? The comments all focus on Israel's security- but both sides need ... Read Moresecurity, and the Palestinians need their basic rights observed, in addition to the right of their return to their homeland. If Israel is worried about 'demographic imbalance' or whatever other euphemism is used, surely the refugees should be returned sooner rather than later? Why is it that the concessions Palestinians have made- their rights signed away- are never spoken about? Israel must not stick stubbornly to policies that have no foundation in international law if there is to be peace in the region. There can be no peace without justice.

More diarreha of the mouth from MONIQUE BUCKNER. Boooooooo... Hisssssssssss!!!

Isreal is the JEWISH homeland.. the "Palestinian's" are the occupiers and they are the ones who are not interested in peace. You've been brain washed by the media like every other ignorant American. I really wish you'd find somewhere else to speak. You're simple and... Read More uneducated views are nauseating. How does firing a constant barrage of rockets from Gaza in Israel fit into your idea of International Law? Using women and children as human shields? Attacking Jews durring our High Holy days? Preventing us from praying where OUR temple stood and was destroyed.. not once, but twice?! You have a twisted sense of justice lady. We gave them Gaza... just look what they did with it. Are you a fan of Hamas? You need to withdraw your savings and buy yourself a clue.

Israel was formed from Palestine where the Arabs have been living for centuries. Immigrants from Europe arrived and used terrorism to create the Jewish homeland. For example the Deir Yasin massacre and the King David Hotel bombing by Zionist terrorsits. Arab towns and villages were wiped from the maps, and this is common knowledge. It is Israel that uses its military might (weapons, technology and training from the USA) to occupy, not the other way around. The Palestinians do not have an army, are not the ones using an 8 metre high wall to steal land and water resources from the Israelis, it is the other way around. If Israel continues to do these things, and disobey international law and dozens upon dozens of UN resolutions, and then carves up Palestine into bantustans so that there can be no future homeland for the Arabs, who are the ones not interested in peace? Those rockets from Gaza- how many have they killed? Not even 30 people. But Israel responds time and again with a massacre. A third of the 1,400 victims in Israel's latest massacre of Palestinians were children. Media buildings were targeted by Israel, as well as UN-run schools, medical centres, ambulances, hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of damage to infrastructure, hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of clean-up costs, thousands of residential buildings damaged or completely destroyed, thereby creating a refugee problem, over 1,000 factories, metal workshops and businesses destroyed or damaged, police and government buildings destroyed or damaged, mosques and roads damaged or destroyed. In 2006 when 2 Israeli soldiers were kidnapped in Lebanon in response to Israel's assassination of two officials in Saida and the murder of a fisherman and shepherd, Israel responded with another massacre, this time in Lebanon. The US had planned this attack with Israeli officials in the spring prior to the July 2006 massacre of the Lebanese in which water treatment plants and power stations were destroyed, hospitals were destroyed, schools were destroyed, orchards and agricultural land was destroyed, various towns and villages indiscriminately bombed. When people were told to leave in Qana, they could not due to the bombing by Israel, the lack of fuel and the damage to the roads, so they were massacred. It was the poor and the sick who mainly remained. In Al-Ghazieh, when people were told to leave, they were massacred by Israeli rockets when they did. So people do not know whether they will be massacred if they stay or if they leave. One man lost his sister, his mother and all his children. His wife was critically injured. Civilians are still being killed in Lebanon due to Israel having dropped cluster bombs in agricultural fields and around schools. So many civilian homes were destroyed that a million refugees where created in the month-long Israeli massacre. There was even damage done to a World Heritage site along the Byblos shoreline when fuel tanks were targeted by Israel at the Jiyeh power plant. This in fact caused serious problems along the eastern Mediterranean. Lebanon airport was also damaged. Well over 1,000 Lebanese lost their lives, again, many of them children. So, if you are concerned about the rockets being fired from Gaza, the international community is even more concerned to investigate the more serious war crimes committed in Gaza recently as per the Goldstone Report. You can't have your cake and eat it. It is the Israeli Army who use people as human shields. They get a Palestinian civilian to go and knock on a door when arresting someone. There is also archival video footage available of Israeli soldiers dragging civilians about while having gun battles with Palestinian fighters and using them as human shields.Or in the latest conflict:

The above has been verified by Amnesty International. And this information also available and common knowledge:

Human Rights Watch claims that the Israel Defense Forces used Palestinian civilians as human shields during the 2002 Battle of Jenin.[16] The Israeli human-rights group B'Tselem reported that "for a long period of time following the outbreak of the second intifada, particularly during Operation Defensive Shield, in April 2002, the IDF systematically used Palestinian civilians as human shields, forcing them to carry out military actions which threatened their lives".[17] The practice was outlawed by the Supreme Court of Israel in 2005 but human rights groups claim the IDF continues to use it.[17][18] During the 2008-2009 Gaza invasion known as Operation Cast Lead, Israeli military forces continued using civilians as human shields. According to testimonies, Israeli forces used unarmed Palestinians including children to protect military positions, walk in front of armed soldiers; go into buildings to check for booby traps or gunmen; and inspect suspicious objects for explosives.[19]

Amnesty International[20] and Human Rights Watch[16] assert the Israel Defense Forces used Palestinian civilians as human shields during the 2002 Battle of Jenin. The Israeli human rights group B'Tselem reported that "for a long period of time following the outbreak of the second intifada, particularly during Operation Defensive Shield, in April 2002, the IDF systematically used Palestinian civilians as human shields, forcing them to carry out military actions which threatened their lives".[17][21] The practice was outlawed by the Supreme Court of Israel in 2005 but human rights groups insist the IDF continues to use it, although they acknowledge the number of instances has dropped sharply.[17][18] In February 2007, Associated Press Television News released footage of an incident involving Sameh Amira, a 24-year-old Palestinian. The video appears to show the West Bank resident serving as a human shield for a group of Israeli soldiers.[18][22] The video can be seen on the AP website. The Israeli Army launched a criminal investigation into the incident.[18] In April 2007, the Israeli army suspended a commander after the unit he was leading was accused of using Palestinians as human shields in a West Bank raid.[23]

The Guardian has compiled 3 videos[24] and testimony from civilians of alleged war crimes committed by Israeli soldiers, including the use of Palestinian children as human shields, the targeting of medics and hospitals, and drone aircraft firing on civilians deliberately.[25] Three teenage brothers from the al-Attar family have described how "they were taken from their home at gunpoint, made to kneel in front of tanks to deter Hamas fighters from firing at them and sent by Israeli soldiers into Palestinian houses to clear them".

If you are taking about Jews praying in the al-Haram al-Sharif sanctuary where the temple used to stand, this goes against Judaic law. The Chief Rabbanate of Jews has set a prohibition for any Jew to set foot here in case of violating the sanctity of the place. On the other hand, Jewish extremists have set fire to this place (1969), pointed guns at worshippers in September 1970, a fake bomb and threat found at one of the gates in April 1982, the adhan prohibited in May 1981 because of Jewish celebrations, the Dome of the och covered in bullet holes when an ex-Israeli officer opened fire and killed two Muslim worshippers also in April 1982, in June of the same year an Israeli arrested for plotting to bomb the buildings in the sanctuary, teargas fired at worshippers in June 1988, in October 1990, 22 Palestinian worsihippers killed at the sanctuary and hundreds wounded by Israeli troops, and to this day, Israelis await the birth of a pure red heifer which will apparently signal that the al-Aqsa sanctuary must be destroyed. That is why Jewish extremists, who are trying their best to start up another conflict, are digging tunnels under the sanctuary.

People will pull together and get through this, even if it means that women become the providers in the family. There is no shame in this. What most concerns me is the fate of single parents and those in danger of losing their homes (I'm not talking about the second home). As long as people help one another out and make budget cuts, this recession can be survived. There are people around the world who are a lot worse off.

I don't like your racism, Jeremy. And what, do you want me to wear a yellow Star of David on my clothing just to prove to you what I am? How dare you. You may support ethnic cleansing but I know the difference between right and wrong. You can chant all you like about Zion- you give Jews a bad name though. What exactly is a 'self-hating' type? Someone with a conscience? Pity you were born minus a conscience.
