MOBIA is a scholarly museum dedicated to exploring the art of the past and present that has been informed by the Jewish and Christian Bible.

Currently on view at MOBIA are the exhibitions "Realms of Faith: Medieval Art from the Walters Art Museum," and "Before the Flame Goes Out: The Romaniote Jews in Ioannina and New York."

hey marj...good question. we're hoping eventually to expand the museum to the "abrahamic faiths," ie, judaism, christianity, and islam. but, as with so many things in the non-profit sector, money is an issue - but we're working on it!

short film, "After Dürer," that uses objects (particularly the polyhedron) from Dürer's "Melancholia I." Which will be featured in the exhibition "Albrecht Dürer: Art in Transition" at MOBIA beginning in July!

Is there any plan to include Eastern Religion?

I know it's not technically "The Bible" but it would be so nice if they would consider other texts and open this "discussion" of theory and art up to the rest of the world, especially in an international city such as NY.
