Tribute WTC Visitor Center
On Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 3:30 pm, the Tribute WTC Visitor Center will present a program by the authors of The Faith Club, a book written in the wake of September 11th about the attempt to bring people together in their communities to discuss their different religious traditions.
The group consists of Ranya Idliby..., a Palestinian Muslim, Suzanne Oliver, an ex-Catholic now Episcopalian, and Priscilla Warner, who is Jewish. Their original idea was to form a faith club so they could explain their religious beliefs to their children. In the process of trying to write a book for young people, they realized they first had to write a book for adults about their soul-searching and enlightening dialogues. The three authors of The Faith Club have spoken around the country – including for audiences in Oklahoma City, the National Cathedral, and the U.S. State Department.
“The Faith Club is an educational tool and blueprint for others. The authors provide guidelines and a list of questions to help others initiate similar clubs. Confronting points of conflict directly and honestly is what makes the faith club work. Neighborly niceties are less important than the willingness to be vulnerable, self-searching and candid,” says a review in the Chicago Sun-Times. For more information on The Faith Club, please visit http://www.thefaithclub.com/.
This program is free and open to the public. To reserve a seat please email to rsvp@tributewtc.org.

Marie Laure Happy Birthday Marine Corp!!! OooRah!!!

Emily Jackson I was there this past weekend and I got to meet Lee, the president of the 9-11 families association. The insight that he gave us on the tribute as well as those unknown days was like being there. I was so thankful to see the amazing power people have when they come togeather for a cause. I hope that everyone gets to s...ee for themselves and understand that we have to teach our children about love and that this is what happens when hatred is in the hearts.

Laura Cotter Only just home in Ireland from spending a wk in New York and we visited the WTC Visitor Center....one word...AMAZING! It is a fantastic tribute to the lives that were lost on 9/11, an emotional experience but a necessary one to go through, so that we will always remember what the people of NY went through that day.

Harry Harty It's a great thing you're doing. Thanks Jen and Lee..btw we talked at the NYSFC convention this summer at Turning Stone and attended your tribute show there..Hope to see you next year..Harry
