We at New York Night Train could've never imagined this l'il ol' party would've gone so far the last few months. This final SOUL CLAP AND DANCE-OFF of the year we bid a fond farewell to James Brown's "Santa Claus Go Straight To The Ghetto", Nathaniel Mayer's "Mr Santa Clause", and all other great holiday jams and get ready for a 2010 full of all kinds of new 45 rpm soul excitement. Because its the Christmas weekend, we expect a more intimate family affair this time. Get up, get out, get in, and get down all night long… again!

Mr Jonathan Toubin has rotated all kinds of rock'n'roll for your listening pleasure for three years at this Wednesday hang-out. In honor of the holiday season New York Night Train will be giving away each and every record for free each Wednesday leading up to Christmas between 10pm and 2am. The “Record Release,” a con...cept developed by Mr. Eric Z of the Mighty Robot and Wolfy of Red Dawn II years ago and revived by NYNT a number of times over the last couple of years, is where the records are given away to party-goers immediately after play. This a great excuse for Toubin, who doesn’t sell records, to get rid of doubles and other extras, and for you to pick up lots of amazing 45s and LPs, from standard and worn to valuable, from the 1950s to 2009 – primarily drawing from the 1960s rock and soul canon – but also lots of punk, post-punk, blues, country, and other genres – but all good enough to be included in a New York Night Train DJ set (which this is an exceptional form of). Get there early and stay all night to fill in yr belly, yr ears, and yr record collection!
