From Newark Penn Station, ride the Newark Light Rail two stops to Washington Street and you're on campus. Students should pay the “Downtown” fare, and must remember to validate their tickets before going to the light rail platform.

By Plane
We're just a 15-minute car ride from Newark Liberty International Airport, or take the Air Train from the airport to Newark Penn Station.

By Train

NJ Transit, PATH and Amtrak all stop at Newark Penn Station, about 10 blocks from campus. The Morris & Essex and Midtown Direct lines stop at Broad St. Station, also close to campus.

By Automobile

From any direction, Rutgers-Newark is easily accessible from all major highways.

Numerous bus lines from NY and suburban NJ go to Newark Penn Station.

By Campus Shuttle

The University operates several shuttle services to provide transportation to the Rutgers Community. The Penn Station Route - provides continuous transportation between Rutgers, NJIT and Penn Station, Monday thru Friday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. at 20 minutes intervals.
