Newberry College Office of Student Financial Aid The Newberry College Financial Aid Office will conduct two Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) workshops. During these workshops, we will assist you with completing your 2009-2010 FAFSA. Your appointment will take approximately 30 minutes.

What to Bring?
To complete your FAFSA, new or renewal, you will need income information from 2008. Following are the documents you will need to complete the FAFSA:

Federal PIN # assigned by the US Department of Education*
Social Security Number
Driver’s license (if any)
Alien Registration card (for students who are not a U.S. citizens)
2008 W-2 forms and other records of money earned in 2008
The student's (and spouse’s if married) 2008 Federal Income Tax Return – IRS form 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, 1040 Telefile, foreign tax return, or tax return for Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Marshall Islands, or the Federated States of Micronesia
The parents’ 2008 Federal Income Tax Return with all W-2s (for dependent students)
Current bank statements
Current business and investment mortgage information, business and farm records, stock, bond, and other investment records.




* Before attending a workshop, it’s best to apply for a PIN number. The PIN is used an electronic signature. Go to http://www.pin.ed.gov/ to apply. If you have previously applied for financial aid, you already have a PIN. If you do not know your PIN, you can also go to http://www.pin.ed.gov/ to retrieve it. If you are under 24 years old and a dependent student, one of your parents will also need a PIN.
