Well here it is again just two of the gorgeous animals we have between both our shelters at the moment. It is so hard to pick just two as they all deserve to be shown off to the world!!
Meet Aslan a large tan mastiff.
Meet Aslan a large tan mastiff.
Aslan arrived at our Benton Shelter in October and is looking for a home with plenty of time and space for him. Aslan is a very friendly dog who loves his walks and a good tummy rub. This gentle giant would like an adult only home. (dog no 632)
For more information why not visit him at our Benton Shelter!

Meet Tinker a black and white tom cat.
Tinker arrived at our Benton shelter in February this year. He loves his bed and enjoys to be stroked although he can be quite timid at first. Tinker is looking for an experienced cat owner with plenty of time to spend with him as he does not like to be picked up.
If you think you could help Tinker visit him at our Benton Shelter.
Our Benton shelter received a young terrier cross dog from the Killingworth area. She arrived trembling and whimpering with her jaw to one side. On our vets examination her jaw was found to be so badly broken into little pieces they said, it was like a ‘bag of marbles’.
The injuries she has sustained could have come from several blows to the face. There are no further injuries to the body which would normally indicate a Road Traffic Accident.
She has had surgery and has her jaw bound together to keep her mouth closed allowing it to heel. Staff have to feed her through a tube fixed to her stomach, and our vet provides regular medication to speed her recovery.
‘Leona’ as we have named her, has been neglected for some time judging by her dirty, smelly and matted coat, despite being under a year old. It is absolutely heart wrenching to think that someone has inflicted this unnecessary pain and suffering to a defenceless, innocent young animal.
We know it maybe a long road to recovery, but she has gained weight in just a few days, despite being fed through a tube. As long as there is hope and she continues to fight to get better, we will do all that we can to give her the second chance she deserves.
We will keep you updated with Leona's progress over the next few weeks.
Cleo (306)
Cleo is a brindle and white four year old Staffordshire bull terrier cross. Cleo was brought to our Claremont Shelter in September as her owner could no longer walk her. She is a gorgeous girl who would suit an active home with plenty of attention.
If you would like further information on Cleo please contact our Claremont Road shelter on 0191 232 2878.
Dodger (45)
Dodger is a black an white tom cat. He arrived at our Benton shelte at the end of May. Dodger is a very friendly cat who loves attention. Dodger loves his scratching post and will play for hours. Dodger would be best suited to a home where he had plenty of attention.
if you would like further information on Dodger please contact our Benton Shelter on 0191 215 0435
