Learn how to identify and monitor mammals such as foxes, otters, hedgehogs and moles in this special event.
Join experts from Northumberland Wildlife Trust and the EYE (Exploring Your Environment) Project to look at owl pellets, tracks and signs, video footage and museum specimens to find out more about the hidden world of mammals in Northumberland and Newcastle.

Join the members of the Northumberland Biodiversity Partnership at a Bioblitz on Holy Island to discover the variety of wildlife that is present on your doorstep.
A Bioblitz is a race against time to count as many species of plant and animal as possible at a particular site in a 24 hour period.
Drop in to the Bioblitz ...marquee at the Chare Ends car park on Holy Island from 13.00 – 16.00 on Friday 12 June and from 10.00 – 13.00 on Saturday 13 June to get involved.
Free activities include rock pooling, minibeast hunts and bird spotting.

The EYE Project
Come to Gosforth Park Nature Reserve and explore the amazing variety of wildlife that can be seen there, if you look hard enough!
Gosforth Park Nature Reserve is owned and managed by the Natural History Society of Northumbria, and is one of Newcastle’s hidden gems.
Experts will be on hand to share some of the technique...s used to track and record its flora and fauna.
Drop in any time between 10.30 and 15.30. Please note that the ground is often wet, muddy and uneven, and therefore suitable clothing and footwear must be worn.

The EYE Project
Join the Northumberland Wildlife Trust for a fun-filled day at Leaplish Waterside Park. Activities include guided red squirrel walks, nature treasure trails, minibeast hunts, wooden toy-making, children’s craft activities, face-painting (£2), a guided wildlife bike ride (bring your own bike / helmet or hire them at ext...ra charge) and demonstrations of bird-ringing, willow-weaving and fly-fishing.
The cost is £5 per person and includes all the activities above except where indicated, with free entry to the Birds of Prey Centre (normal admission price £6 per adult).
