BREATHE IN. BREATHE OUT. Isn't it time to feel what fresh air really feels like?

With enough coastline to stretch back and forth across Canada four times over, there's no shortage of breathing room here.

Which should come in handy. You may find yourself having to catch it as you stroll some of our many trails, some along ancient footpaths, through inlets, coves and bays. But when it comes to breathing the fresh air, we think you'll find plenty to share with the whales, seabirds, clotheslines and for that matter, your neighbours. Many of them venturing from all over the world.

We always appreciate your submission of photos from around Newfoundland and Labrador. We'd love you and your friends to submit your pictures of clotheslines and scenes of fresh air to the Fan Photos section of the page or to www.newfoundlandlabrador.com/VirtualScrapbook.

Just read an article in the latest Chatelaine magazine about the lack of men in the atlantic provinces because many are going to Alberta to work. I know they have each other, but we'd like them to know that women and men from allover Canada are thinking about them and their families. Show your support by visiting the group "We Support our Maritime Families".

island tour...
by Elina at 6:14am on April 11th, 2008
We went to the island(s) for about two weeks and if I were to go back for another quick fix I would go right back up to Twillingate. It is stunningly beautiful and you MUST pay a relatively small amount of cash (I think we paid about 35$ 5 yrs ago) to go on a iceberg finding boat ride. The former fisherman who took us out was so personable and it seemed that all the boats were communicating to make sure that people got to see an iceberg and whales. And he knew so much about the history and natural features of the land. There is a great pool place and a couple of good breakfast places and some amazing city parks. Also, we stayed with people we knew on Bell Island and got to discover this incredible place - imagine, Jiggs dinner on the beach with fresh picked raspberries for desert. Thank you Cahills! Of course, St. John's is amazing. And so is Gross Morne. And camping at Dildo Run was incredible...
Ahhh.... Newfoundland.

Down town NFLD, The Ocean, Signal Hill, Jelly Bean houses, went Cod fishing with Mr Efford, Had a great time. If I ever go again I'm not doing the road trip I'll fly way to long of a drive... But good times by all.:)

I used all of the N & L Tourism web and paper resources last year to plan an AMAZING 2 week vacation. The tourism map was excellent, as are all of the web resources. What I learned was 2 weeks is NOT enough!! You do an excellent job marketing the experiences and location. I love the commercials too! I highly recommend visiting this site AND visiting Newfoundland. Cheers.
Good stuff

The website is better than anything the government has released in hard-copy format (Travel Guide 07-08)

When I worked at the tourism office in Gander over the summer most people complained the the newer, smaller travel guide was too hard to use and it was much to small to use the grid systems for each section of the island because the grid ran over the margin and was cut off by the middle joiner of the book.

Anyway, most people were really satisfied by the site. A lot of people asked where they could buy the posters that the government issued only to the tourism spots. Could of made millions from that if they had them in print! Something to think about for this year!
