Agates Of The Oregon Coast In these challenging economic times closing various PUBLIC beaches to beach combing is adding another hardship to the already fragile Oregon coastal hospitality industry. Our fishing and logging jobs are gone, the hospitality industry is seasonal at best, with many employees here on the coast only getting 3 – 6 months ......employment.The State of Oregon is proposing Oregon Beach closures for beach combing.

Agates Of The Oregon Coast It is early for the discovery season and we just spoke to one of our agate hunting fans, he said he has been finding some nice agates. Just goes to show you the hard core collectors could not wait for the gravel to show an abundance of rock yet but yes they are finding some agates are out there.

Agates Of The Oregon Coast We have just experienced our first S.W. storm of the season, bringing with it 60 mile an hour gust. Now we are experiencing winds with 45 mile an hour gust for today and tomorrow. These wind conditions should start scouring the beaches, however we have not heard of any gravel beds being exposed just yet. We will keep you posted as time permits.
