Have you ever thought about the impact of "Innovation" ?
NextStep Directory slogan became "Changing the way you interact with a directory". It is very difficult to show people new ways when they are used to something.
Do you remember what was before the Ipod ? Do you remember what was a walkman ?
Here is a post from BBC about a kid giving up his Ipod for a old school walkman, you will realize how far we come.
Source: news.bbc.co.uk
When the Sony Walkman was launched, 30 years ago this week, it started a revolution in portable music. But how does it compare with its digital successors? The Magazine invited 13-year-old Scott Campbell to swap his iPod for a Walkman for a week.

Interesting insights about Tier 2 cities like Wuhan and Dalian.
Wuhan is one of the city that attract most of the Real Estate Investment in China, besides Beijing lately.

Due to increased demand for information on 2nd tier & 3rd tier cities, we have decided to run a workshop series on lower tier cities in China, as more and more companies are now considering entering or moving west to benefit from lower costs and the market potential.

Moving from the English version of NextStepDirectory.com to a Chinese version has always been a discussion among the NS Team. Many people ask us, "Why don't you just translate it?". The simple answer is "It's a whole other animal".
Look at http://www.about.com and its Chinese version http://www.abang.com. That's a clear example about how your site should be if your are targeting the Chinese market.

why you guys just don't start with search in chinese through existing database, a simple version with result pages, features of rating can be adding for 'interactivity'. its quite simple and useful for certain people and will bring u more traffic. why dont u just study with these searches what chinese people are looking for to 'build' a chinese version later.. i also do agree with idea of 'local brand' image is important.

I like your comment Kost. This is indeed a good way to see what Chinese people are looking for. But here is the thing. As a start-up with limited resources we have to build something that will be helping the masses for now. If we build something for the Chinese viewers, in order to be efficient we will have to find ways to drag them to our website... Read More.
As some of you already know, we are looking at new verticals of directories, a Chinese version will be much more relevant on the next one and might be built from the get-go.
Thanks for you insights. We really appreciate your feedbacks, it is helping us a lot.
