Alright gang! This week we will be discussing the preface and book 1 of Mere Christianity.
I have some questions for you to be thinking about as you read.
1. What is Lewis offering us in Mere Christianity?
2. Can we all appeal to a sense of right and wrong (a God-given conception of the Moral Law)?
3. How is the Law of... Human Nature/Moral Law distinguished from other laws?
4. Is morality relative to culture and upbringing?
5. What are the limitations of Science and Psychoanalysis?
During our last meeting we had an excellent question time. As promised, here are the questions that were posed.
Note: These are questions that may or may not have immediate answers. They are things for us all to think, pray, and learn about. Feel free to ask any of your leaders questions that you may have... the worst we can do is tell you to go "read a book." :)
Does God approve of other religions?
Why does He not stop them?
Is murder in self defense okay?
Is there an unforgivable sin?
Can Jesus/God forgive all sins?
Is there a difference between a demon and a ghost?
Are there different degrees of sin?
Is suicide an unforgivable sin?
Do all children go to heaven?
Is human reincarnation possible?
Again, these are several of the questions that were asked. Things just to think about.
