Jan, I agree. I would love to hear something new from her. I also agree that she is more talented than Taylor Swift, by far!

I would have loved to see Roy Orbison. I learned to love all of his great music thanks to my dad. Now I play it for my kids so that they have some sort of solid musical foundation, as I don't want them growing up thinking that T-Pain and Britney are what real talent is! :)

Good for you, Shannon!!! Everyone should have standards to measure other artists by. Roy Orbison is a good standard to have. Try to get some of his MGM CDs. All of the stuff he did on Monument was awesome, but some of the MGM recordings are otherworldly.

You can find the CD "Cry Softly Lonely One" on Amazon. Worth every penny! You may not know any of the songs, but you won't be able to turn it off. I will look through my collection and recommend a couple of my favorite Roy CDs. They are all relatively inexpensive. If you own a turntable, you can get some great buys on eBay.

There is a video of Roy in Holland from 1965. It is a must own. The live vocals are awesome. It may be available online. I will take a look. It was a Dutch TV Special.... See More
