Jeff Waters Nigel - If a tournament could be held between all the past world grandmasters, and they were all playing as they did at their prime, and they all had access to a database of openings, who would win? Would Capablanca be demolished due to the middle- and end- game knowledge that has been developed over the years, or was... he right in thinking that, untill someone changes the rules of chess, the principles of good play will remain unchanged?

Nigel Short Just back from South America. Was in Argentina as David Howell's second at the World Junior and then gave some simuls in Chile and Paraguay.
