MUSICAL STYLE: A hybrid between hard psychedelia and fullon, NoiseAnomalie’s sound is both unique and musical. Melodic basslines combine with energetic synths to provide a steady stream of textured, varied and, at times, manic trance. The unrelenting drive of his music results in dancefloors that keep moving no matte...r what, and his tendency to use samples in the most surprising contexts prevent his music from turning into typical daytime drone. Constantly re-inventing his sound, NoiseAnomalie is on the cusp of trance development in South Africa and his sets typically represent a seed from which entire new genres of dance music can grow. BACKGROUND: Dylan Reeves was born in South Africa in 1980. He first got into trance in about 2001 and eventually started teaching himself how to DJ. As time moved on, he realised that his true passion lay in production and he created the project NoiseAnomalie. In order to further his skill in production he started working with Andrew Morgan and Mark Ackermann from Hydraglyph and developed a sound that was uniquely his own. Having previously been into rock and metal, certain hallmarks from these genres are evident in his trance, and not just in the obvious use of guitar samples. His love for both metal and trance are evident in his unofficial remix of Korn’s got the life. In 2005 he released his debut album Deep in the Bushes and promptly started producing new tracks almost immediately. His tracks from the first album have also been constantly revamped in order to keep them fresh.
