Noodle and Friends! I'm back from Grandma's... tired and sad to not be playing with my cousins. I had to get up at 4:15 am to make my 6:30 am plane ...ugh. So I spent yesterday sleeping and remembering all the fun I had. But it's nice to be back to be with Ajax one of my best friends at work!

From my quick bit of research, the proper name for the breed is "dachshund". The word "dackel" appears to be used interchangeably in modern German with "dachshund". The word "teckel", which those of you who feed your dachshunds Royal Canin or Eukanuba might find on your bilingual English/French packaging, technicall...y refers to their state of training when they are used for hunting. In order for a dachshund to become a "teckel" they must successfully follow a trail of blood for a certain distance.

The dachshund is a short-legged, elongated dog breed, of the hound family. The standard size was developed to scent, chase, and flush badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals, while the miniature was developed to hunt smaller prey, like rabbits. ...

Elizabeth Runyan oops....bred to hunt (not hund)!

Elizabeth Runyan You say Dackel, I say Dachshund....Actually, both Dackel and Dachshund are German words. The literal translation for Dachshund is Dachs = Badger, Hund = Dog....Badger Dog which is what the Standard size doggy was bred to hung (the mini hunted rabbits and prairie dogs). The name Dackel is another name for the breed, but... more commonly used in Europe. No matter what their name is, I love them all!

Lucy Hey Noodle!! It's Mokahh. I saw you have fun with you cousins. I'm having fun in the snow too. Thank you for the warm jacket. Now I can play snow and stay warm.

Noodle and Friends! I'm still at Grandma's. We're going to have a wonderful dinner tonight and all toast in the New Year at 12. Right now me and Koa and Nani are squabbling over a squeaky toy. I want to wish a very very Happy New Year to all my fans. We'll talk next year!!
