She's said all during the budget process that public education cannot be cut so deeply. They cannot be allowed to make the deep cuts to public education they are proposing. As a school board member I am telling you we ... See Morewill NEVER recover from the backward movement. If you value your child or grandchild's education NOW is the time to make your voice known. After they pass a budget that over crowds the classrooms, cuts teacher positions, technology and school books and supplies, it will be too late.

Senate Democrats agreed Wednesday to a plan to raise state revenue. None of the senators like the tax increases inherent in adding $982 million to state coffers for 2009-10, but told WRAL News they are willing to support the outline floated Tuesday by the finance committee.
