Center for Conservation Medicine @ Tufts Cummings School of Vet. Med. Dr. Nutter V'93 completed a combined residency/ Ph.D. program in wildlife medicine and epidemiology and is a diplomate of the American College of Zoological Medicine. Dr Nutter has worked extensively in wildlife disease epidemiology, ecology, and surveillance, particularly related to cross-species disease transmission.... Her experience with the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project (MGVP) brought her progressively increasing management responsibility, and she has a proven track record of working with national governments and local NGOs to successfully implement programs in complex environments. As part of her work with MGVP, Dr. Nutter dedicated herself to capacity building within the animal and human health sectors and to managing projects designed to promote wildlife health and species conservation. Dr. Nutter's field experiences in Africa, Asia, and Latin America have included training research assistants, veterinarians and local stakeholders on the ground in the implementation of best practices in wildlife medicine and disease surveillance, as well as in risk analysis and conflict resolution.
Tufts is glad to welcome Dr Nutter back as a key member of the Tufts RESPOND team which is part of the new USAID Emerging Pandemic Threats Program. Dr Nutter has recently taken up her new position as Senior Technical Officer of the RESPOND project based in Bethesda.
