That was a wicked fun trip. I wish it was longer, darn it! Thank you guys for taking us and I look forward to going next year, too! It was quite an experience for all of us. It gave all that went a chance to kinda click, which was nice.
Peace out!

Hara Harding This is all totally impressive, regardless of the transmission problems. You should all be so pleased with yourselves and your accomplishments. YEA!

Conor Curtin What a party, sad I could not attend

Kimberley T. Walton Mr. Dieter....thanks again for meeting us so I could pick up Rico. It was very nice to meet you- I can tell you have a great relationship with the kids. Ant/Rico has turned into a fine young man and matured since he has been away from home; and I am sure you have had alot to do with that. I appreciate it. Take care- Kim

Alt Fuels North Haven will post scoring data as soon as it becomes available.

Alt Fuels North Haven is on the road back to north haven. Bad transmission, but good spirits.

Andrew, Amanda, Anne-Marie, and I worked on getting the electric motor out of the e-van so that we could diagnose its problem. First Amanda and I took out the battery box to make room for us to get at the electric motor. Next Amanda unbolted the electric motor from the transmission. Then Amanda, Dieter, and I used a...ll of our might to pull the engine out of the e-van. Unfortunately, though, after a thorough examination of the motor and coupler we found out that the problem wasn't in those parts, it was in the transmission itself.Read More

Part 1 Today was day 2 for the competition. At our arrival at 6:30 AM at the test track we waited for the meeting to start about the events going on today. Our first objective was to go to Wegmans, a supermarket with a cafe, to eat breakfast. After breakfast, we were to either go back to the test track to charge up or ...go out of town to one of the other objective areas. We chose to go back to charge up and got ready for our errand runs. Our first errand was to get our car filled with a whole bunch of boxes and measure the area of free space. We got all the boxes that they had available into the E•Van, so we won that part. Next was to go to the Joe Paterno statue in front of the Stadium and get our picture taken in front of it. The third task was to drive to the top of a parking garage and back down.Read More

Part 2 Before, when we were leaving the cargo place, Jesse was unable to put the E-Van into reverse but he eventually got it. Later, when we were leaving the parking garage, we couldn’t get the E•Van into any gear. Something happened with the transmission, but we dont know what. So we called Dietter and he came with th...e U-Haul, but it was too tall to go into the garage, so we had to push the E-Van a little to get it going down the ramp. So then we hitched up and headed back to the Test Track. We stayed there for a couple hours working on fixing the problem. At around 4:30 we went to a net negative carbon house which was pretty cool to see. After the tour, we had a scoring meeting and then headed out for dinner. After dinner, we worked on putting the E-Van back together, and put all our supplies away and headed back to the hotel. What a long day.Read More

Jeremy Page Part 1 Another day at the competition. We had to arrive at the test track by 6:30. No day to sleep in if you ask me. At the test track, we had a drivers’ meeting, where we talked about what would happen over the course of the today. There were events for people to do like the cargo capacity test (which we owned!), opportunity charging, and discharging electricity to the grid.
