Ohio Dept of Ins Director Mary Jo Hudson is reminding drivers to be on the lookout for more deer on roadways and to check with their insurance agent to make sure they are adequately covered in the event that they strike a deer while driving.

Ohio law requires that children under four years old and under 40 pounds must ride in a car seat or booster that is appropriate for the child's age and weight. And crashes are much less common among teens whose parents set clear driving safety rules. The findings are in two studies by researchers at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and funded by State Farm Insurance Co. They are in the October issue of Pediatrics.

The Hoffman Group A new survey conducted by Liberty Mutual found that parents are not always setting a good example for their teen drivers. In fact, 69 percent of parents of teen drivers said they practice at least two dangerous or distracting behaviors while driving and 49 percent admit to practicing at least three behaviors.
