Northwest Hawaiian Connection Almost done here in Hawaii and I'll be off to the east coast for a couple of months. Sorry for the lack of posts but I've been traveling and off line. I've gotten some more photo's and will post them soon.

Northwest Hawaiian Connection My God I can't believe how many fans NHC has grown to include. As soon as I get back on my home turf I will write you all but for now I just want to say a huge Mahalo for all of your support and displayed intrest for this cause. It warms my heart to see it's grown every time I log in. Please feel free to post any pict...ures of your own you'd like to share with us. Aloha, Steve

Northwest Hawaiian Connection Chief Seattle days are winding down and I have a few leads on places to store the Bus and the Lunch Bag (my Grumman Van) for the winter. I've started dialog with a few different people who would like to see and help me build two Hawaiian style canoes out of cedar. Strip canoes are light weight and strong as they're gla...ssed as well. What a blessing it would be to own canoes out right. We'll see : )

Northwest Hawaiian Connection Still in Suquamish. They've given me permission to launch from here next years journey. Trying to drum up some dough to get back to Hawaii for receiving ceremony. Pretty much took all I had to get this done. I had the feeling Spirit wanted me broke at the end of this all...a humility thing I figure.

Northwest Hawaiian Connection I WANT TO SINCERELY THANK ALL THE MEMBERS OF MY CANOE FAMILY FOR TOUGHING IT OUT THROUGH ALL THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS WE ENCOUNTERED ALONG THE WAY! MY MOST HUMBLE APOLOGIES FOR THE MANY MISTAKES I MADE ALONG THE WAY AND HOPE IN-SPITE OF THEM YOU ARE GLAD YOU CAME. I KNOW I'M GLAD YOU ALL DID. HA'A HA'A. MAHALO NUI LOA. A HUI HOU, MALAMA PONO STEVE

Northwest Hawaiian Connection We did it. The final thank you to the many volunteers was tonight. I am still in Suquamish to meet with the tribal council to see if I can start from here next year on the Paddle to Makah 2010. That right! I've asked and been granted permission to do this again next year.

Northwest Hawaiian Connection Hey did I ever mention the kids from Indian Head High School? Do you guys know that these kids along with the guidance of their rock star teacher Ms Shannon Henery did two fund raisers and donated $1,300 dollars to NHC in effort to lift us up? Well they did!!! and wouldn't the world be a better place if there were more... people following their footsteps. My hands go up to you!

Northwest Hawaiian Connection Holy Smokes! 195 fans. Yikes! I will write you all as soon as my feet get back on the ground. Tomorrow is the last day of protocol and it's back to LaPush to pack everything in, jump out to Hawaii do an oli off of Pele and shoot for the west coast. Two roofs later and I hope to find myself hunting with my new found friends from Alaska.

Northwest Hawaiian Connection Would like to apologize to Buna and his son Kaliko from Maui for taking so long to getting tickets for them. I've got a lot to learn in the process of group organization. I apologize for any stress caused to anyone in the wake of my learning curve. I'm si

Northwest Hawaiian Connection We Have confirmed seats and our Hui Wa'a flies to the mainland tomorrow 7/22 for the Journey. Saddly two of our family from Maui have had to cancel but ours is to listen to Spirits will for this journey and abide.

Northwest Hawaiian Connection Hui Wa'a had send off from Oahu today. I wish I could have been there in the flesh but I'm where I need to be to be of most use. People in LaPush are stoked to meet their guest. It's good to see them all again. I love my bus. I've been sleeping in my hamm
