Nueva Escena, Inc. This lyrical and powerful drama about the life and times of Puerto Rico in the 1980s, is the story of a couple, the photographer Daniel Cuevas and the young aristocrat Marimé, as told by their journalist friend Luis after Daniel’s death. Marked by infidelity and class differences, this love affair drives a plot line th...at is interlaced and permeated with the sounds of Salsa. More than simply providing a soundtrack to the play, the music allows us to delve into the psychology of the characters.

Salsa Gorda will premiere at Teatro Pregones in the Bronx during the final week of September of this year. It will run for two consecutive weeks. We expect this production to attract hundreds of individuals and families, including Hispanics of different backgrounds.

is in Spanish with English supertitles.
