Sarah Hoffman Remmy,I think Masai mara is a brilliant place fantastic park,but to fly there for a day with two young children is too much if you are looking at spending 300 pounds per person per day which i recken will be the price, then, you should fly for an overnight stay at Amboseli which is brilliant. Do not forget that the road from Mombasa to Tsavo gate is okay its bumpy to go inside the park so is Mara its even bumpier.

Remy Hello all, is there anyone out there going late November? Sounds like we might be the only ones :-)

Being Kenyan, I have been to Mombasa quite a few times but never before have i been to the voyager. This will be my family's first trip to Kenya and really want to make it special for them.

Was woundering, other than Holla Park (which i'm sure the kids would love- 2 kids both under 5 yrs) what else is there to do that would keep the kids entertained?

A safari sounds great but i think that they might be a bit young to fully appreciate the experience, besides a long bumpy ride to Tsavo might really be a bit too much for them.

Last time I was at the coast, I was able to fly to the mara. Does anyone know anyone who could organise a day trip to the mara and back? And if so, What would I be looking at price wise for a family of 2 adults and 2 toddlers?

Are we better off just enjoying the entertainement at the hotel given the ages of the kids?
Any thoughts/ideas r very welcome

Sarah Hoffman We are booked at the Voyager for August 24th for a week we paid 256 PPS for accomodation only all iclusive! any ideas out there on this if its a good price or not? Am so excited can't wait!!!!!

Also, the costs for the visas have been halved ($25 pp I think)and you don't pay for kids on entry, on exit though you pay for everyone and its 2,000ksh per person over 2

Susan Gray Hi coming to Voyager Beach with my family in 3 weeks time - really looking forward to it very much!!! Looking for information from the Hotel on excursions - boat trips, scuba etc. What's on offer and what are prices (need to ensure we bring enough money).

Also what currency is best to bring - UK sterling or dollars?

You can scuba from the hotel itself, but if you want to do some really fantastic scuba diving, book the Pilli Pipa to take you off Wasini Island - absolutely awesome - everyone who was scuba'ing on our dhow said it was the best they had done, with the exception of the Great Barrier Reef of course. I think it costs $130 per person, but they pick you... Read More up from the hotel then take you out to dive on a dhow. After 2 dives, you then go to a fanastic restaurant on the island which serves a beautiful meal including Mangrove Crab and all sorts of lovely other courses - all included!

I am looking at going to the hotel for 14nights... From reading reviews I am definately going to book a 3/4 day safari with Julius..

My question is: Do you have to book 2 separate blocks of accommodation at the hotel, for example, 5nights then the 4 day safari then another 5 nights? Im guessing u dont pay for 14days at the voyager if for 5 ur not there?

Also I want to book it all separately cos first choice charge £1700 each, when its not even that much for the room (inc.both of us) direct....

How exactly do you go about doing it??

Try doing it through Portland - same group as FChoice but cheaper - they will also include the safari for you. You have to check out of the Voyager and back in on your return. Personally, we booked 14 nights through Portland and then separately booked a luxury 4-day safari with Southern Cross Safaris - they provided nice big vehicles - Land ... Read MoreCruisers. This was important to us as we had heard that the other companies tend to use the smaller minibuses. Try to get Kilaguni, Amboseli Serena and Satao Luxury camp - awesome!
