John F. Kennedy: The Conception of the OECD Development Centre
The Conception of the OECD Development Centre was a proposal by US President John F. Kennedy which he first put forward in an address to the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa on 17 May 1961: “I propose further that the OECD establish a Development Center, where citizens and officials, and students and professional men of the Atlantic area and the less-developed world can meet to study in common the problems of economic development.”
