We are pleased to announce our 4th annual pre-holiday sale, A Celebration of Art! will be held at the MJCC on Sunday, October 25, 2009.
This year we will be accepting 10 new guest artists. ORA has invited an impartial jury panel to review submissions for these guest spots. The jury date is set for Sund...ay, May 3rd. If you are interested, please click below for an application, and pertinent info.

ORA: Northwest Jewish Artists Come see our free exhibit this week! Celebrating Jewish Art Week, we are showing in the lobby of Mittleman JCC here in Portland.

Last night we had a great critique session for our 3-D artists.
Since our 3-D media are so different, we aren't necessarily qualified to judge each others' work. So Eddy introduced us to this "consultancy" protocol, and we used it to evaluate two artists with distinctly different questions.
Maybe 'evaluate' isn't the ...right word, but it ended up being a really good discussion, as the artist explained her process and posed one or more questions that she is facing. The resulting discussion was encouraging, and brought new perspectives from different eyes. I think we all benefited and enjoyed it as well.
Can't wait to see how they do the 2-D session next week.
