Oak Ridge Art Center You should see the work being created in our open studio today -- we have painters and a chain maille artist working. All the painters that are here have pieces being shown in "Open Show 2009" that opens tomorrow evening. Here is a picture of the chain maille work - this piece is just getting started, but you should see what she has on her wrists!

Open Show 2009 is great and can't wait to hear how
everyone else feels about it. So much thoughtful and/or thought
provoking work. The artists in this region just keep getting stronger
every year. If you come to the gallery, let me know what you think.
My super volunteers have outdone themselves this year. I cannot
exp...ress the wonder at working with such talented and caring people.
For all you artists out there - they work really hard at making the
most of your gallery opportunities FOR YOU. When you see them, say
thank you to Jean Gregory, Karen Evans, Len Fuller, Connie Capshaw, Sue
Thomas, Betsy Spooner, Ricky Beene, and Judy Kidd -- they deserve it!
Hope to see everyone at the opening on Saturday night!Read More

Oak Ridge Art Center Check out the photos from Debra Fritts' workshop. It was a wonderful experience with lots of information, art, and fun. Debra is an excellent teacher in addition to being an artist, who is willing to share her knowledge freely. We're already planning a day to get together and try some of the techniques we leared.
