Sunday, Dec. 6th. Rally for the inclusion of a bicycle/pedestrian lane on the ODOT plan for the new I-90 (Innerbelt) bridge. We rode from Tremont's Lincoln Park along the current (unsafe and circuitous) route to Downtown. The entire large group started along Scranton Rd...., down through the Flats, up Tower City's back parking lot, over the Lorain-Carnegie bridge, over the Abbey Bridge and back to Lincoln Park.

Don’t let the sunshine in the photos fool you. It was a cold one in Tremont on Sunday, as temperatures in the low 30s heralded winter’s tightening reins on Cleveland. But the weather didn’t deter over 100 cyclists and pedestrians from rallying in support of a path to connect them to downtown. ...

Ohio City Bicycle Co-op A brief techicnal note of the ride, of ODOT suggested routes we opted for the 2 safest of them, Abby and Scranton options, glass and road conditions yielded 2 flat tires almost immediately on Scranton, another flat on Abby and a forth on the Lorain Carnegie Bridge. Shifter failure and a rear wheel that didn’t want to ...stay straight in the drop outs were needs that I can attest to, there may have been others.

Ohio City Bicycle Co-op Want to express a big Thank You! to everyone who showed up to the Rally and for those who wasn't able to attend for all your support and efforts. Support has been enormous and wide, from a far as Peru (thank you Jody!) On deck is the NOACA meeting Friday, lets get letters and emails to the before then.

Ohio City Bicycle Co-op Very nice article about the rally and the fight to include bike and pedestrian facilities on the new Innerbelt bridge.

This explains why several groups of citizen activists enlisted the aid of Kent State University's Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative to create a rendering of what a bike lane and pedestrian path might look like on the proposed new Interstate 90 bridge over the Cuyahoga River.
