'Young at Art': Oklahoma Wondertorium makes infant development
kits available at the Stillwater Public Library!!!
(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Dec. 21, 2009) ––
Stillwater’s Oklahoma WONDERtorium, the “museum without walls,” has
placed 15 Young at Art kits at Stillwater Public Library. Designed
for infants and their par...ents, these take-home kits are filled with
materials and activities focusing on hands-on elements of visual art,
dance and music.
The multi-purpose kits use art media to help parents understand
child development, improve family bonding, strengthen attachments,
stimulate children’s learning, and improve motor skills, all while
supporting the infant’s social and emotional development.
Each kit contains suggestions for using the contents with children
at 0 to 3 months, 3 to 6 months, 6 to 9 months and 9 to 12 months. To
check out the kits, parents should fill out a simple information sheet
at the Children’s help desk. Use of the kits is free and they can be
borrowed for up to two weeks.
The Wondertorium has plans to expand this program to use with older
children in the future.
